The District Court has approved establishing Local Civil Rule 15.1 – Motions to Amend or Supplement Pleadings; Local Rule 83.4 (e) - Appearance in Civil Cases; Local Criminal Rule 57.2 – Withdrawal from Representation and Substitution of Counsel; and Local Criminal Rule 83.8 – Transfer and Assignment of Cases When Defendant has a Pending Supervised Release Violation.
Under the Pro Bono Work to Empower and Represent Act of 2018 (the "POWER Act"), the Chief Judge of each federal district is required to annually host an event to promote pro bono services to empower survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Wendy R. Oliver took the Oath of Office in a public ceremony on February 7, 2023, to serve as Clerk of Court for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The Oath was administered by Chief District Judge Sheryl H. Lipman. Clerk Oliver officially assumed the duties as Clerk of Court on February 1, 2023, but due to the ice storms had to be sworn in privately.

The Honorable Sheryl H. Lipman assumed the duties of Chief U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee on January 20, 2023, replacing the Honorable S. Thomas Anderson who completed a term of six years as Chief Judge.
